SRI LANKA ~ Ranunculus Sagittifolius flower ~

... Lovely new postcard from the "Flowers of Sri Lanka" series... we do have similar ones growing  in our countryside...  we call them "boterbloemen"... with their beautiful yellow shiny petals they look like little drops of sunshine in the grass☼ ☼... dear Ravindra I wish you all the luck in your new home!! Ranunculus is a genus of about 600 species of plants in the Ranunculaceae. Members of the genus include the buttercups, spearworts, water crowfoots and the lesser celandine.

Ranunculus sagittifolius is an  endemic perennial herb ± 90 cm tall. You can find them in the Upper montane zone, in wet or marshy places or among grass. It's flowering from April to October.
