From backside postcard:
"Humayun's Tomb, Delhi the first tomb built with several innovations, set at the centre of luxurious gardens with water channels, was the precursor monument to the Taj Mahal (built a century later). It was built in 1570 and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage monument in 1993 for its cultural importance. The tomb set on an octagonal plinth has a raised dome of 42.5m height covered by marble slabs and decorated with canopies"

Humayun Tomb is located on the bank of river Yamuna in the capital city Delhi.

This mausoleum was built in the memory of Emperor Humayun, the second Mughal ruler to ascend the throne. The tomb was commissioned by Bega Begum, Humayun’s Persian wife  nine years after the Emperor’s death.

The Humayun's Tomb was added to the UNESCO WHS list in 1993.
